Exporting Reports: "Range": add more options rather than just ‘Date’ / ‘Shooting Day’?
Davide Sacchetti
I'm generating several reports: what works best for me (and I REALLY like 😎!) is: Shooting Schedule -> Select the Category/Categories I need from the DROP-DOWN MENU -> generate the report. It would be even better though, especially for elements that are very staggered and/or don't have many appearances, if we could have the option to export only the relevant strips/days that match the selected elements (with the 'Shooting Schedule Format' if possible). And/or: a series of separate Days/Dates like: “Day 1, Day 14, Day 36” / “May 3, May 16, July 9”…
There might be an existing way of doing this I am missing: if so please let me know!!
Check the attachments: the 'CosmoVisions' report I made is EXACTLY WHAT I WANT TO DO: it was done by manually scrolling & selecting the strips I need from the "Story Order Stripboard"; then right-clicking "generate report", then Shooting Schedule, then selecting the category I was interested in: Bingo! That's EXACTLY what I want to have for that meeting!
In this case, it was easy to find & select the right strips from the stripboard because I put a little emoji in the sc description every time this element appears so it was quick to spot the relevant strips on the board. But it would be great if it were possible to do so by adding more options in the ‘Range’ menu.
Ps: the 'Category by Day' list doesn't generate a readable list if I select more than one element... but it often makes sense to group more than one category in one report: ie Background: Wardrobe, Hair & M-Up (and Production!) will want to know how many BG + Feat BG + Stand-ins we have throughout; or in a Period film: Vehicles (Wagons, Chariots etc) + Horses + Riders... If I select more than one Category in the 'Category by Day' report it doesn't generate a readable report.
As always: thanks for all the great work & hope this makes sense 😅!
