Separating Blocks/Episode production days on the same board
Nico Sachse
I am working on a schedule for a TV series with eight episodes shot in 4 Blocks (2 episodes per block). There are three days in the middle of Block 1 that will be Block 2 work, and then Block 1 continues. Explanation: June 9-23 is Block 1, June 24-26 is Block 2, June 27-30 is Block 1 again, and July 1-25 is Block 2. How can I reflect this on a board and keep track of Block 1 and 2 production days so that June 24, 25, and 26 will be Block 2, Day 1, 2,3, and June 23 will be Block 1, Day 11, and June 27, Day 12.

Hi Nico,
Hi Nico Sachse - You can use the Unit Break feature for this.
- Assign all relevant breakdowns/strips and text banners on your board to Block 1 and Block 2, respectively. This allows you to filter by unit when you create a report.
- Each day on your crossboarded stripboard will need to have a Unit Break and the usual End of Day Break.
- Then, you'll be able to have Block 1 Days June 9-23 using Unit Breaks for Block 1 and Block 2 Days June 24-26, and back to Block 1 after that.
Here is an example for you:

Herman Phillips Hi
Thanks for the response. Not sure that my question was all that clear.
What I am trying to do, looking at your excample, is that Tues, Wed, Fri would be Day 1,2,3 of block 1.
Mon,Thu,Fri would be Day 1,2,3 of Block 2. (Day Banner should reflect that and not "4,5,6") so that Saturday, July 13 would be Day 4 of block 1 and NOT day "7"

Nico Sachse: Got it! Right now the "End of Day Break" = the Production Day, regardless of Unit or Block.
The Unit Break itself indicates the Unit Day Count whereas the End of Day Break indicates the actual day count for the production.
We do plan to "End of Unit" breaks, but right now this is how it functions.

Herman Phillips. Just to add in. If you’re printing a board along those lines it would be great to lose the end of day banners on days the unit isn’t shooting. I.E. if you shoot mon Tue weds one week then Mon Tue the next week, it would be great to not print out the thu fri end of day banners
