Idea would be for offline capability. Once locked, others can continue to read-only on the certain board but the offline locked version can be accessed and edited by that current owner without server connection and edited as needed, then re-synced later on. Also, this functionality could be extended to pass an offline locked file to another person to utilize (maybe as only read only).
